Clutch Tutorial at Koltureshoq

"I’ve got an awesome DIY to share today; I can hardly contain my excitement. I saw this DIY Leopard Box Clutch tutorial over at My Little Secrets and always thought it would be a great project to try out. And then recently, opportunity knocked on my DIY door and I opened not just the doors, but the windows and the sun roof as well….hehehehe.  I’d asked my colleagues at the office to bring me their old jewelry so I could re-purpose them and Sope brought hers in this really cool Gucci sunglasses case. However, it wasn’t exactly new and had some scratches all over it. Ding! And I decided to make lemonade".... Read more

"I have this thing, weird as it may be, about being able to easily see ALL of my fabric. Its a little difficult at times, especially with all different sizes of fabric. This is the solution that I use for my fabric that is close to a yard to 2 or 3 yards. First go to the dollar store and get the foam craft boards.  They are with the poster boards and are the same size as a poster board.  Then cut the foam board.  I used my rotary cutter.  I cut mine 12 inches wide by 10 inches tall".... "Storage. Storage. Storage. Storage.  I think that if you’re a crafter, you can never have enough of it. There’s always more yarn to buy, a bag of fiberfill you can’t find room for, or scrap fabrics you know you will need some day.  I was almost done organizing my craft space (it’s always a WIP, but almost done this stage), I was only missing a few boxes to store said fabric and yarn in. What I really wanted were folding boxes, the type they have at Target – but there is no Target here, and IKEA didn’t have the right shape and color for what I wanted. I did not want to make them, and I put in a lot of effort trying to find ready made ones but couldn’t. So, I was left with no choice but to make them myself".... Read more

Cape Tutorial at KR Finger Puppets Blog

"For my twin nephews' 5th birthday, I made them each a superhero cape — complete with superhero cuffs and masks. Even though I was really nervous, the fabric of choice was satin because my husband and I believed the shininess would give them extra super powers!  I wasn't too happy with the cape pattern I found online; the width was about the size of a bath towel. I wanted a cape that's big enough so that they can grab it, bring it over their shoulders, and cover their faces. So I made my own pattern, but it's really just a half circle.  Below are the instructions for the cape, mask, and cuffs".... Read more

A trip to Holland and Barrett and I am all set with shelled nuts and candied fruit.  When I moved to England, she used to send me one every year. Snowman Tutorial at Make it Easy Crafts Blog

"Since a martini glass is sort of concave you can easily see inside the glass even easier than the outside.  So when I paint my Christmas snowman glass I paint him using a reverse technique so that you can see the front of him on the inside of the glass and on the outside you see him from the back. It's all painted on the outside of the glass and there is no paint on the interior! It’s easier than you may think if you follow the easy step-by-step instructions. Bake it in your home oven (No, it won’t melt) and it will be top rack dishwasher safe, but I always recommend hand washing. Even though there appears to be quite a few steps the paint dries quickly and the results are beautiful.  Wouldn't these be a super Christmas gift".... Read more
