Prolong the life of your old jeans

Tutorial at Threading My Way Blog

"What do you do with a pair of jeans that has a rather large hole? Refashioning or repurposing springs immediately to mind - salvage the unholy parts, and make them into something else. But that's not the only option. No matter how big the hole, it is possible to prolong the life of jeans by repairing them.  I recently discovered a rather large hole in a pair of my gardening jeans. Who knows how long I had been walking around with them like this! I wasn't prepared to relegate any of my everyday jeans to be worn in the garden, so fixing the hole was my only option".... It was designed to look nerdy but I think it’s super cute and totally appropriate for my room, err I mean Ellie’s room. And I love the noise it makes when I grab the bowl, too cute".... Read more

Shelves can hold reminders of things you hold close to your heart

Tutorial at A Crafty Mix Blog

"What does it really mean when they say home is where the heart is? For me it’s all about the little things; the rose that my daughter gave me from the garden, a candlelight dinner under the stars, my son’s cheeky smile, our fur babies, a good book and laughter. Without the little things a house can never be a home. Our pallet home shelf which we made last weekend is the perfect place to display some of those special things".... Read more

"I must say that as a craft lover I can sometimes get a little bit overwhelmed when it comes to buying new tools or craft supplies... And after a few years of crochet in Hong Kong, I have just realised that I have many crochet hooks all over the place! It was time for a little re-organisation of this mess and I thought it would be a great occasion to share this quick and easy DIY with you.  The good thing with this hook holder is that it is not only super cute, but also very quick to do and cheap! A cute crochet flower bookmark for spring

Tutorial at The Chilly Dog Blog

"I don't get to read as much as I'd like because I'm usually too busy crafting. However right now I'm finishing up the book "Flight Behavior" by Barbara Kingsolver. Kingsolver is one of my favorite authors and once again, has not let me down with this beautiful story. Of course a good book deserves a beautiful bookmark. Since spring is in the air, it only seemed appropriate to make a flower. This pattern can easily be completed in an evening and would make a thoughtful birthday or Mother's Day, or even bridal shower favors".... Read more

"As a self declared Wingaholic, this is dangerous... I'm always excited to try a new way to make them, especially if the wings will be crispy without deep frying in oil. Well, I'm here to tell ya folks, these Crispy Oven Baked Wings using Corn Starch live up to their name! The foil lined baking sheet makes it so much easier to clean-up and the house doesn't smell like frying oil either. Now you can indulge whenever you're inclined".... Read more

Tutorial - How to Make a Scallop Shell Trinket Dish

Shells can be obtained from a local supermarket

Tutorial at Pillar Box Blue Blog

"These unique trinket dishes are made by using discarded scallop shells. They are so easy to do and are truly adorable, they also make a lovely present. To keep with the seaside theme I added a bit of quirkiness to my trinket dishes by attaching a little sea creature. Also as I can’t resist a bit of Marimekko I decoupaged the outside of shells to make them even more lovely".... Read more
