Tutorial - How to Make a Bobby Pin Container

Recycle a tic tac pack for bobby pin storage

Tutorial at Borei Design Blog

"When you have a house full of teenagers, every little thing helps when it comes to organization.  Not too long ago I recycled a nut can to create a loose change container that really helped with the haphazard laying of coins around the house.  It seems to really help knowing that you have a cute container specifically for the purpose.  Another problem the girls have (and even I am slightly guilty) is keeping up with bobby pins.  Bobby pins are constantly needed when doing any kind of updo with long hair and have a tendency to be left here, there and everywhere".... Tutorial - Make a Quick Recycled Bobby Pin Case

http://fanofstuff.com/5-minute-bobby-pin-case/
Grab washi tape and an empty spice or candy tin

Tutorial at Fan of Stuff Blog

"Sometimes you just see something that immediately sparks that fire inside of you... You don’t even need instructions to figure out what it is and how to do it. I immediately ran downstairs and started salvaging. I almost exclusively use the large size bobby pins, so I needed a larger case. Enter a bay leaf tin. It is the perfect size for large pins and has a huge mouth so you won’t have to fight to get your pins out".... Read more

Design made with spaghetti, puffed rice and split peas

Tutorial at Upcycled Design Lab Blog

"It started with a large tin can and the need for a place to store some of my cooking utensils. I have been wanting to try using this homemade embossing paste recipe since I found out about it and while I originally thought that I would use it on an art journal page it occurred to me that I might work for this project.  All you need are the three ingredients in this photo and detailed instruction is in the link above. So I mixed some up".... "Having a loose change jar in my house is an absolute necessity.  It manages to somewhat cut down on all the loose change taken out of pockets and left here there and everywhere all over the house.  It is also really surprising to see how much those stray pennies amount up to after a while if you start to throw them all in one place.  When it's full, I usually just take it and dump it into a coinstar machine at my neighborhood grocery store when going to shop.  By keeping a change jar I end up with a little less mess around the house and a bonus savings off my grocery bill".... Tutorial - Make a Jewelry Dish with Air-Dry Clay

Look around your home for an interesting surface imprint stamp

" I officially have a new craft obsession: air dry clay! I've always wanted to make some of those cute jewellery dishes so I went and bought some air dry clay. The only time that I have used air dry clay was for my Christmas ornaments and the fact that it took 3 days to dry (then) discouraged me from using it again. This time I used a different one and it was so much better! It dried overnight and it was so easy to use".... Read more

http://aboutfamilycrafts.com/i-love-you-embossed-jars/
You can use this technique to write any message you like

Tutorial at About Family Crafts Blog

"These decorated baby food jars are easy to make. If you don’t have baby food jars, or if you just want to make a larger jar, you can use mason jars or any jar you might have in your recycling bin. If you do use a larger jar, you could even write the entire message on one jar. Also, you aren’t limited to writing what I wrote on the jars — write any special message you like".... Read more

Attractive containers made with recycled jars

Tutorial at Borei by Design Blog

"Don't you just love glass food jars? You can make them into a gazillion things. I'm in love with pickles jars.  They come in nice large sizes that beg to be repurposed.  I'm currently in the process of replacing various food storage containers in my kitchen with upcycled pickle jars. The only problem with using glass jars from store bought food is that the smell of the previously stored product often lingers even after cleaning.  This is particularly the case with with pickle jars"....
