Tutorial - How to Make a Recycled Storage Container

http://www.annymay.ca/blogs/craft-diy/12280985-making-storage-containers-with-reclaimed-plastic-bottles
Hard-wearing and practical storage

Tutorial at Bonjour Handmade Blog

"I got this idea when I was operating a home kindergarten. Laundry detergent bottles are so sturdy!! It’s a shame to throw them away!! We’ve also used them in the sand, to carry objects outside, etc. The handle makes it quite handy for children, and you can use them for anything you wish! So you will need an empty plastic laundry detergent bottle (liquid soap for cleaning clothes). The hardest part in this project is to remove the label! With some warm water, a small knife or a spoon, and lots of patience, you will have terrific results".... Read more

Tutorial at Happier than a Pig in Mud Blog

"I've been looking at these flexible hoses for a while now and was even more interested when I saw there is/was(?) a bucket that hangs over the faucet to store it in. The bucket only seems to be on Ebay these days and sells for big bucks. I knew there had to be another idea... Now, in a perfect world this little basket would be white. But this is ~my~ world and sometimes I just have to make do for now".... Read more

Video tutorial on making a special dish for your jewelry

Tutorial at Cute Simple Stuff Blog

"Today I am sharing this idea of an item that comes on handy when you have a situation similar to mine. Every time I would go and take a shower, I would always take off my jewelry or accessories before taking a shower and then place them next to my shower. It was getting kind of frustrating because I didn´t have a “proper” place to place them while they were there and before I put them back on where I usually store them...First World Problems. I know, but is always the small things, and if there is something that could simplify and make like just a tad bit easier, I´ll take it".... Read more

Tutorial - Recycle Soda Box into Storage Container

http://homemadehooplah.com/upcycled-soda-box-storage/
Create trendy storage for your canned goods

Tutorial at Homemade Hooplah Blog

"With this project I’ve officially entered stage 1 of maximizing the (surprisingly little) space in our kitchen: making custom storage boxes, particularly for cans and spices.  But why did I go with boxes? I needed a solution that would allow me to easily store and move everything around as I saw fit. And then there’s The Boyfriend to consider, who hardly ever digs around in the kitchen but when he does he’s like a bull in a china shop, so I also needed something that was durable yet also replaceable. Making my own boxes just seemed like my best bet all around".... Read more

Tutorial - How to Store Fabric in Mini Bolts

http://iamonly1woman.blogspot.com/2013/12/how-to-make-mini-bolts-for-storing.html
Display your beautiful fabric and store neatly at the same time

Tutorial at I am Only One Woman Blog

"I have this thing, weird as it may be, about being able to easily see ALL of my fabric. Its a little difficult at times, especially with all different sizes of fabric. This is the solution that I use for my fabric that is close to a yard to 2 or 3 yards. First go to the dollar store and get the foam craft boards.  They are with the poster boards and are the same size as a poster board.  Then cut the foam board.  I used my rotary cutter.  I cut mine 12 inches wide by 10 inches tall".... Tutorial - How to Fold Fabric for Easy Storage

Use a ruler to fold your fabric neatly

Folding Fabric Tutorial at Cherished Needle Creations

"I definitely need to get a handle on my fabric stash.  I recently started working on it and really liked a folding technique that I had heard about somewhere, although I don’t remember where.  It really saves on space and helps you be able to see all of your fabrics, up to about 4 yards.  My pieces that were longer than 4 yards I wrapped back on cardboard bolts.  For the medium to small pieces I first laid them on the table folded in half lengthwise".... Tutorial - How to Turn a Hamper into Fabric Storage

This end table holds lots of fabric

Table Tutorial at Fleur de Lis Quilts Blog

"Make an table that stores your fabric. Several years ago, before the studio came about, every scrap of fabric had to be scrutinized and considered carefully before being put away or kept.  What quilter wants to toss out scraps?  Certainly not this one!  I just had to get creative in storing them.  A trip to my favorite dollar store yielded a couple of clothes hampers".... Tutorial - How to Make Fabric Covered Storage Bins

One yard of fabric should cover front and back of 4-6 bins

Storage Bin Tutorial at Its Always Autumn Blog

"I recently repainted my family room and added some IKEA Expedit bookshelves to try to tidy up all the toys, books, and other items that get strewn across the room each day. Bins on a bookshelf are a perfect organizing solution for family rooms and bedrooms, but I quickly realized that purchasing fabric bins to fill up the bookshelf was going to get extremely expensive - they would actually cost more than the bookshelf itself! I found a much cheaper solution - Sterilite bins purchased online in a six pack - but they weren't nearly cute or colorful enough. So I covered the front of each bin with fabric that coordinated with the colors in my room and turned these boring bins into modern and decorative organizers".... Read more

Tutorial - How to Make a Stuffed Toy Storage Pillow

A cute idea to organize your children's stuffed animals

Toy StorageTutorial at Sewing the Littleheart Collection Blog

"Do your kids have tons of stuffed animals and you don't know what to do with them? Well, mine does, and she is not even three yet! She actually never really plays with them (yet?) and they are just laying around all over the place. I was searching the internet for some storage ideas, and came across this fun idea here - A big pillow that you can store all the stuffed animals in, but also use as a sitting pillow. How fun!  I also remembered a floor cushion tutorial that I pinned a while back, and never got around to making, and then I thought, hey, I might as well give this a try".... Read more
