Cover ends with hot glue to prevent unraveling

Tutorial at Mary Martha Mama Blog

"Some of you are probably sick of me and the headbands.  But for me 2016 is the year of the headbands.  Well, at least it’s the year of beefing up my headband collection.  My hair accessories tend to grow legs, walk away, and hide around here.  So I’ve been busy making a few styles- knotted, ruffle flower, braided, and now a rope headband.  This one is so so simple to make.  I cannot over-exaggerate that.  And it’s inexpensive to boot.  Here’s what you need"....Read more

Quick knit headband suitable for year round wear

Tutorial at Fan of Stuff Blog

"It’s time for Summer knitting!  For me that means trying to finish projects I started when it was still Winter, but maybe you knit faster than I do. Maybe you’re looking for something to knit that doesn’t make you sweat under layers of wool. Maybe you don’t care about any of that and you just really dig hair accessories. I won’t judge you for any of them.I love this headband because it works all year round and I don’t have to mess up my hair by slipping it over my head. You could also wear it as a necklace or cowl in a pinch".... Read more

Tutorial - How to Make a Turban Headband

http://curlymade.blogspot.pt/2015/04/diy-turban-headband-anthropologie.html
Grab some white fabric, paint and a plastic headband

Tutorial at Curly Made Blog

"I've been seeing so many types of these headband turbans on Antropologie, like this one, that I had to try and DIY one myself, it seemed easy enough, the only problem was that I didn't have any nice fabric to use. So I just grabbed my plain white fabric, and tried some patterns and textures to see which one worked best. As you can see I went for a colorful brushed look, and I'm pretty happy with the result".... Read more

Tutorial - How to Make a Star Headband

http://maker-land.blogspot.com.au/2014/10/halloween-is-almost-upon-us-and.html
Halloween or everyday dress up accessory

Tutorial at Maker*land Blog

"Halloween is almost upon us - and although it is still a fairly new tradition in  this part of the world, any holiday that endorses dressing up in costume is alright by me.  I'm still not sure about this whole trick-or-treat business, but I'm all over the dress-ups in a big way.  Actually, in a world ruled by me, everyone would be in costume every day.  It would be the law.  But I'm not so keen on those plastic, mass produced discount store costumes".... Tutorial - How to Make a Ribbon Headband

http://the-pickled-herring.blogspot.com/2014/05/simple-ribbon-headband-tutorial.html
Use leftover ribbon from previous projects

Tutorial at The Pickled Herring Blog

"It took me over a year, but I've finally put together a tutorial for the ribbon headbands! These are super simple and quick, and would be a great beginner sewing project. You can use any width of ribbon you'd like, depending on what kind of look you prefer.  I [obvoiusly] used Scandinavian ribbon. You can find a variety of Scandinavian-style ribbons on Etsy [TrimKo has quite a few options], or you can buy whatever type of ribbon you find cute at Michael's or Jo-Ann Fabrics".... Read more

Tutorial - How to Make a Crocheted Headband

http://www.breadandwithit.com/crochet-headband/
Incorporates buttons and interchangeable crochet flowers

Tutorial at Bread & With It Blog

"To be resourceful I usually pick up yarn at garage sales.  I am able to pick up rolls for 25 cents that way, and most of the time it is really nice!  I am a huge fan of saving money whenever I can.  I picked this yarn because it was a little stiffer and wouldn’t stretch as much, causing the headband to reshape after a few minutes of wearing it.  It’s also a thinner yarn, and I prefer a more dainty look.  When you are picking the yarn for your project keep in mind that the larger the thickness, the thicker your headband will be and the larger the button holes will be (requiring larger button). This yarn called for a F size crochet hook, so that’s what I used".... Read more

Tutorial - How to Make a Crocheted Headband

http://thelittletreasures.blogspot.com/2014/02/forget-me-not-headband-free-tutorial.html
A lovely forget-me-not headband to crochet

Tutorial at Little Treasures Blog

"For this lovely headband I used a variation of my flower pattern which you will find below.  Pattern requirements:  Skill: Beginner / Easy:  Hook and yarn: for this project I used a 1.9mm (B1-E4) hook. Gassed, mercerized light yarn. However, if you use other sizes of yarn for this project, you should consult the label of your yarn/thread because it always gives information about recommended hook sizes. Please bear in mind that the size of yarn and hook influence the size of the finished project".... Read more

Tutorial - How to Make a Crocheted Ear Warmer

http://www.blog.oomanoot.com/ombre-crochet-ear-warmer-tutorial/?utm_source=directory&utm_medium=totally&utm_campaign=ombre-crochet-ear-warmer
A quick and easy pattern to keep your ears warm without getting hat hair

Tutorial at Oomanoot Blog

"Every year I make everyone winter hats. This year I made a giant load of hats for charity. But no hat for me… This year’s been exceptionally cold, and my ears are freezing off! My hair is finally long enough to wear up, but that’s not really convenient for a hat. So instead, I decided to make an ear warmer. I wanted it to be fast (as always) and warm, which I would normally do with bulky yarn, but my stash is severly depleted (yey! an excuse to go buy more yarn!) and I did not want to go out in the pouring cold rain to buy more. Instead, I decided to make it with 2 strands of worsted weight yarn crocheted together, and get a nice wintery ombre effect while I was at it.  So lets get our hooks crocheting and our ears warm".... Tutorial - How to Make a Headband Holder

Easy display for your headbands

Headband Holder Tutorial at Pretty Please Blog

"I wanted to make a few of these for display purposes for my booth.  At the first Flea, I just hung them on a rack, but they kept slipping and people just stuck them randomly while browsing- can't have that now can we?! So I wanted to make something neat and organized and more polished for the upcoming flea. The original plan was to stuff the "pillows" with poly-fill stuffing- but it wasn't cost effective (about  $15-20 bucks a bag) so my eyes immediately darted to the yarn aisle and VOILA! At just $8 bucks for a humongous skein of yarn- my cheat-sheet short-cut idea was born".... Read more
