"People, who dress up for the holidays often do so for the spirit of the celebration without really being concerned about fashion trends. In my opinion, the best way to dress up for the holidays would be with accessories that are absolutely in trend. With 4th of July fast approaching, here is a really quick DIY necklace that combines two of this season's most favourite trends - choker necklace and tassels".... Read more

Tutorial at Happier than a Pig in Mud Blog

"These Cream Cheese Decorated Message Brownies are a super simple, fun idea to spruce up a boxed brownie mix for the 4th of July.  All you need is cream cheese, powdered sugar, gel food dye and a couple piping bags. I did add a tip to the bags but that really isn't necessary. Write whatever you'd like, or let your inner-artist go wild... They are after all, your brownies".... Read more

http://www.pillarboxblue.com/flag-upcycled-denim-bunting/
Easy to adapt the design for other flags too

Tutorial at Pillar Box Blue Blog

"It feels like ages since I’ve upcycled anything with denim, my last denim post was my scrap denim Easter eggs. I do have some denim upcycling projects in the pipeline but I thought I’d show you how to make some fabulous flag upcycled denim bunting.   I’m participating in a Junk Visionaries monthly challenge and the theme is patriotic. The upcycled denim bunting I originally made was Union Jack bunting, but as most of my blog audience is American I’ve also made a Stars and Stripes version just for you ! It was quite easy to adapt my flag bunting design from Union Jack to Stars and stripes as they are both red white and blue".... Read more

"How about jazzing up the backyard BBQ with some Stars and Stripes Deviled Eggs. Instead of dying the whites, this time I colored them with food writing markers, it was easy and fun. You're only limited by your imagination and um, patience.  Cut the hard boiled eggs in half and pop the yolks into a bowl, mix up your favorite deviled egg recipe, set aside".... Read more

Tutorial - Make a Patriotic Pillow Cover

http://olives-n-okra.com/patriotic-throw-pillows-/
Easy patriotic throw pillows using fabric remnants and fiberfill

Tutorial at Olives-n-Okra Blog

"I had several pieces of fabric leftover from my Patriotic Rag Wreath. The fabric color scheme didn’t match the colors I picked for the wreath, so I thought I could use them to make Patriotic Throw Pillows.  I don’t have a pattern for the throw pillows. I simple shored up my material and made each pair of contrasting fabric the same size, stitched about a 5/8-inch seam on 3 sides of the material and about 2/3 of the last side, then stuffed the pillows with handfuls of polyester fiberfill. Simone helped me sew by pressing her two little feet on the sewing machine foot pedal until she got tired. Then she helped stuff pillows until that bored her".... Read more

Tutorial - How to Make Layered Fudge

http://happierthanapiginmud.blogspot.com/2015/06/4th-of-july-fudge-aka-ridiculously-easy.html
Make a 4th of July treat with this easy recipe

Tutorial at Happier than a Pig in Mud Blog

"The minute I saw the Oreo Fudge that Bloggy Buddy Liz made I bookmarked it. The only thing is, I'm one of the two people in the world that's not fond of Oreo's... So, I could either sub the cookies with chocolate chip cookies or opt to leave them out entirely. I went with the latter and coated the top with red, white and blue jimmies. This Fourth of July Fudge truly is ridiculously easy to make and can be changed up for any holiday simply by using color coordinated jimmies or candy on the top. I think you'll like it if you try it folks".... Read more

Attach themed fabric strips to a wire wreath frame for a fun 4th of July decoration

Tutorial at Olives - n - Okra Blog

"I finally finished my Patriotic Rag Wreath. I picked up these gorgeous patriotic fabric bundles a few weeks ago at Hobby Lobby thinking that this would be a quick and easy craft. I must admit that I totally underestimated the amount of time it would take to complete this wreath. Once I finished cutting the fabric in strips, it went quickly. It was a lot of fun, and there’s plenty of work the kids can do. The wreath is easy to make, but it does take several hours".... Read more

"This design has been stewing for a bit.  I finally snuck in a few sewing minutes and put it together.   Lately I have been having a lot of fun with the quilt as you go method.  After sketching a few things, I figured out how to make the flag layout work…… so happy with how it turned out! I am not one to dec my whole house with holiday stuff, but it’s been awhile since I’ve had anything new for the 4th of July month.  This project is perfect.  It sews up pretty quick, and since it is a pillow cover, can be stored away when not in use"....
