Scrapbook paper turns pallets into a classic shabby chic shelf

Tutorial at A Crafty Mix Blog

"I love scrapbook paper. It can be used in so many different ways to transform something boring into something extraordinary. Scrapbook paper is relatively cheap and there are some many different options to choose from.  I bought this pack of 24 sheets for under R 100, and I abSoooLutely love the soft neutral colors and beautiful patterns. It just oozes shabby chic. Soft, lady-like with pops of pastel pink and time-worn hints of days gone by".... Read more

Tutorial - How to Make a Mini Scrapbook with CDs

http://joyfuldaisy.com/cd-scrapbook-album/
Turn a pile of old CDs into a cute mini scrapbook

Tutorial at Joyful Daisy Blog

"I just love making mini scrapbooks!  I think part of the appeal is that I can complete one in an afternoon where as my other albums are always a work in process.  I also love projects with a theme so that I can dive into all of the related embellishments!  Lastly, I love giving mini albums as a gift.  Anyone that has done this, knows just how delighted the happy recipient is to see themselves or some of their favorite people featured in their own mini book :)  This book for instance, I know my mom would love since it features all of her grandchildren enjoying a day at the beach together, however, I love it too and don’t know if I can bare to part with it!  It is quite simple to do and quite sturdy since the CD’s form the base so it can handle lots of wear and tear. Let’s see how this is done so you can whip up one yourself".... Tutorial - How to Make a Mixed Media Layout

http://ashleycalder.blogspot.ca/2014/04/how-to-make-mixed-media-layout.html
Versatile and beautiful look for a scrapbook or journal background

Tutorial at Things That Shine Blog

"This background took all of five minutes to make... so so super easy and I just love the effect of the layered book pages and gesso and the crayon-y goodness. This is a technique I've used on lots of pages because it is so easy, impossible to mess up and looks different every time. All you need is a piece of cardstock, gesso, book pages, and something to add some colour -- I used Caran d'Ache artist crayons, but gelatos, watercolour paints, watercolour pencils, PanPastels, or mists all work really well too".... Tutorial - How to Make an Expandable Photo Box

I remember making one of these at a Scrap Book Conference

Photo Box Tutorial at Craft Cravings Blog

"Happy Monday. Yes, it’s Monday again. Lame!  Today’s photos have a little bit of an ugly lighting issue. By the time I finished the project, a bunch of clouds rolled in and we’re  expecting rain tonight. I may go back and re-take some of these photos, but they aren’t too bad, I’m just being picky. Anyway, back to the project. This little exploding box is easy to make and it makes a great little gift! I made one for my mother for mother’s day last year in purples and greens. It had photos of all three of her kids. Each “level” of the box had photos of us at different ages. Level one was baby, level two was “older kid” and third level was more recent pictures. She really liked it and I know you guys will too. It’s so fun and depending on what type of paper you use, you can make it for any occasion".... Read more

"As a mom, I'm required to carry photos of my child around at all times. Some people really want to see the photos, others are just being polite. To carry around all the things I need on a daily basis, my purse already qualifies as a mid-sized suitcase... so I don't want to lug around a ream of photos as well. That's why today's tutorial is this fun little pocket album! ..." Read more
