Use leftover fleece fabric to make cute monsters

Tutorial at XOXO Grandma Blog

"One of my favorite charities is looking for people to make stuffed monsters for the children's ward.  Working toward my goal of using up the fabric stash I've accumulated, I found some scraps of yellow fleece. So why not use this fleece to make monsters for them? It worked perfectly. If you want to make some little monsters of your own, here are the details".... Read more

Make wooden desserts from blocks, knobs and toy wheels

Tutorial at Plenty of Paprika Blog

"Not much time to blog, too much to do! But I am making an effort to post once a month. For this month, it was easy to pick which project was going to get a spot here.  It is fun how simple wood knobs, blocks, circles & candle holders can turn into pretty dessert stands, delicious looking wood cupcakes, petit fours, cookies, donuts, truffles - and only need some wood glue, clamps, paint, a little patience and some imagination".... These blocks are a great way to use up some fabric scraps

Tutorial at Kelly J Designs Blog

"This is a project I started a while ago and have been working on intermittently between other projects.  I wanted to make my son fabric stacking blocks with letters and numbers on them.  I had made him some fiberfill-stuffed cubes with ribbon loops and rattles to play with when he was a baby, but they didn't stack very well.  In order to make the blocks stack, I am using high-density foam inside the blocks".... Tutorial - How to Make Bean Bags

http://whatsmummyupto.blogspot.com.au/2013/12/tutorial-whats-mummys-mummy-up-to-shes.html
You can also make a little bag to hold your bean bags

Bean BagTutorial at What's Mummy Up To Blog

"Have you ever wondered what you can make for your grandchildren and other ‘under threes’ for Christmas?  This year I have decided to make beanbags. Beanbags are small squares of fabric that have been sewn together and filled with something dry – I use rice, but I have heard that dried peas, dried beans, split peas, lentils, or wheat can also be used.  They provide a soft toy that can be thrown and caught, used to practice throwing into a container or ring, or used as a balance aid eg trying to walk around the room with the beanbag on your head.  They're great for gross-motor development".... Tutorial - How to Recycle Plastic Bottles with Papier-Mache

Make bear figures for story telling

papier-mache:
Papier-Mache Tutorial at The Crafeteria Blog

"My kids love recycling. They've heard about it so many times in kindergarten, so now they won't let me throw away anything... Plastic bottles we throw to the recycling bins, of course, but this time we decided to give them new lives instead. Three bottles, in different sizes and shapes, turned happily into three bears that helped us tell the story of Goldilocks (who's not so goldi in our case, more like Brownilocks...) and the Three Bears. Want to have them too? It's super easy".... Read more

A cute idea to organize your children's stuffed animals

Toy StorageTutorial at Sewing the Littleheart Collection Blog

"Do your kids have tons of stuffed animals and you don't know what to do with them? Well, mine does, and she is not even three yet! She actually never really plays with them (yet?) and they are just laying around all over the place. I was searching the internet for some storage ideas, and came across this fun idea here - A big pillow that you can store all the stuffed animals in, but also use as a sitting pillow. How fun!  I also remembered a floor cushion tutorial that I pinned a while back, and never got around to making, and then I thought, hey, I might as well give this a try".... Read more

Keep the little ones busy and cool in the summer heat

Fossil Ice Tutorial at Sisters, Sisters Blog

"For my church, I helped plan our 4th of July activity, and because it was so hot we had many water activities to keep everyone cool.  One of the activities we had for the kids, was ice rocks with toys frozen on the inside. Tutorial - How to Make a Sponge Bomb

Great fun for the Dog Days of Summer

"I am planning a Water Birthday Party for my soon to be 8 year old. Where we live it is super super hot. At the same time I am not sure I can handle 7-8 8 year olds running through my house. So we decided on a water party. For one of our activities we decided on a water balloon toss but I really hate the idea of filling up a million water balloons and then all those pieces of balloon all over my yard. I was searching through Pinterest one day and found Sponge Bombs. They are awesome! You can use them over and over and they were super easy to make".... Read more

So, I just put them all up for your enjoyment. This project has been in the works for a while. I've been excited about it. It's, as far as I know, a Meaningful Mama original. Tutorial - How to Make a SeeSaw

Child inspired project

SeeSaw Tutorial at Crafty Little People Blog

"Alex and Jasmine retrieved some left over plastic drain pipe and a board from the rubbish pile we had been making down the side of our house. The rubbish was meant to go out on our next council collection day. However, it appears my children had other ideas. I heard them giggling madly outside. When I came out to see what was the cause of so much fun, I discovered they were trying to make a see-saw. It was very clever of them, though unfortunately not the safest or sturdiest creation".... Tutorial - How to Make a Stuffed Owl

PDF Pattern Included

Stuffed Owl Tutorial at Stubbornly Crafty Blog

"Print your pattern and cut out the pieces. You'll need two of everything except the beak.  Pick out your fabrics. Trace and cut out the front and back of your owl. I made the back of my owls the same fabric as the wings.  The rest of the pattern pieces trace on the smooth paper side of your fusible webbing. Cut out around the pieces and iron them on to your fabric selections. Follow the directions on the back of the package. Start with the wings. Match them up to the outside edge of the owls body. If they don't match perfectly no big deal. You won't be able to tell once you've sewn around the owl body at the end".... Read more
