Tutorial - Make an Industrial Chic Display Ladder

http://acraftymix.com/blog/2016/07/11/industrial-display-ladder/
Display a throw, a little plant, or other mementos

Tutorial at A Crafty Mix Blog

"Storage and display ladders are all the rage at the moment, but they can be a little pricey and some of them seemed a bit wonky. I’m not really sure if they would be able to hold lots of blankets and the last thing you want is for your display to end up in a heap on the floor.  So we decided to make our own and combine functional storage with a little industrial chic for a unique take on this latest craze.  Our little ladder was really easy to assemble, didn’t cost a lot and adds so much character to our living area".... Tutorial - Turn a Branch into a Towel Rack

http://acraftymix.com/blog/2016/05/23/branch-towel-rack/
Bring nature into your bathroom decor

Tutorial at A Crafty Mix Blog

"You don’t need to spend a lot of money on a towel rack, it’s easy to make one from an old branch. Here’s how we made this one. All you need is a sturdy curved branch and some curtain accessories similar to the one shown in the picture below. It’s the bits you screw into the wall that keep the curtain rod up.  We cut the branch down a little and removed the side growths".... Read more

Tutorial - How to Paint Giant Wall Art

http://www.pillarboxblue.com/giant-wall-art/
With the help of an app on your phone and a projector you can create a stunning portrait

Tutorial at Pillarboxblue Blog

"As well as crafting, I love to paint. Not having a formal art background has never stopped me from painting and creating. My craft buddy Wendy and I have a thing about painting our dogs, admittedly she is a bit better at it than I am, but that doesn’t stop me.   By showing how Wendy painted a giant posterized portrait of her dog Lottie, I’ll show you how easy it is to create your own wall art. It is a bit like the painting by numbers you may have done as a child".... Read more

Tutorial - How to Make "HOME" Shelves

http://acraftymix.com/blog/2016/04/03/home-shelf/
Shelves can hold reminders of things you hold close to your heart

Tutorial at A Crafty Mix Blog

"What does it really mean when they say home is where the heart is? For me it’s all about the little things; the rose that my daughter gave me from the garden, a candlelight dinner under the stars, my son’s cheeky smile, our fur babies, a good book and laughter. Without the little things a house can never be a home. Our pallet home shelf which we made last weekend is the perfect place to display some of those special things".... Read more

Tutorial - Geometric Art with Adhesive Vinyl

http://www.plasteranddisaster.com/geometric-art-with-adhesive-vinyl/
Use a cutting mat and x-acto knife to cut shapes

Tutorial at Plaster & Disaster Blog

"I was drawn to the idea of using vinyl when I came up with a concept for some geometric patterns, but the idea of painting them using painter’s tape did not appeal to me in the least. The project in question: some artwork to fill the space behind Sam’s computer monitor in his study:  I built the shelves knowing that I would want to put something there to fill that space, but I wasn’t sure what would be right given that the whole room is fairly neutral and minimal. I also wanted something really inexpensive, and knew that I wanted it to be a specific size to perfectly fit the dimensions of the space".... Read more

http://repurposingjunkie.com/2016/02/18/bathroom-junky-letterpress-blocks-wall-art/
Use a variety of re-purposed items for lettering

Tutorial at Repurposing Junkie Blog

"A few days ago I saw an awesome project by Jess at Make and Do Crew, and I fell in love with this DIY letterpress wall art, and just had to try making one of my very own, junk style though, similar to my other project.  I went looking around our house, pulling together whatever I could find.  I was on a mission to spell out the word “BATH,” and found everything I needed from my repurposing stash".... Tutorial - How to Dress Up a Welcome Mat

http://www.handsonworkshop.com.au/diy-tutorial-spring-door-mat/
A fresh way to add color and cuteness to a cheap black rubber mat

Tutorial at Hands On Workshop Blog

"A front door mat is called a “Welcome mat” for a reason. It’s one of the first things people see when arriving at your door.  If you need something serviceable but inviting, here’s a fresh way to add colour and cuteness to a cheap black rubber mat. It’s a way to say “Welcome”, without the words.  The flowers and leaves woven into this mat are made from old kids’ singlets. You can use any type of jersey cotton but stretch cotton material is necessary to weave around the holes easily. We used singlets for the flowers and an old T-shirt for the green leaves (because we had no green singlets). The rubber mat with circular holes came from Bunnings* for less than $10".... Read more

Tutorial - How to Make a No-Sew Fabric Ottoman

http://acraftymix.com/blog/2015/12/15/no-sew-denim-pouffe/
Uses recycled plastic bottles, fabric, staple gun and fabric glue

Tutorial at A Crafty Mix Blog

"My son asked us to get him a Pouffe to rest his feet on when he’s relaxing in his hammock.  Now these things come in all shapes and sizes, but none of them were quite the right height or colour, so we ended up making one. It turned out to be really, really easy, and we recycled some plastic bottles at the same time. What you need to make a no-sew denim pouffe: 7 plastic bottles, we used 2.5 liter plastic coke bottles, 1.5 m x 1 m stretch denim fabric, 2 wooden circles".... Read more

Tutorial - Make a "Mind the Gap" Draft Stopper

http://www.pillarboxblue.com/funky-diy-draught-excluder/
Cross stitch with Worsted Weight wool

Tutorial at Pillar Box Blue Blog

"The price I pay for living in an old victorian house is the draughtiness, the doors and windows are so old they don’t quite fit as snuggly as they should. To keep the cold at bay I make draught excluders. I have made a funky colourful draught excluder stitched on one side with some playful typography “Mind The Gap” and backed in denim.   I love using puns and words with personal significance with my DIY crafts".... Tutorial at Lindsey Crafter Blog

"After finding these gorgeously gilded wood bowls on Anthropologie I haven't been able to shake them!  After perusing my local TJ Maxx I happened upon the SAME live-edge wood bowls for $10-$7 and grabbed a few to DIY! Applying gold leaf to these was challenging but added the perfect metallic detail to my coffee table setup".... Read more

Tutorial - How to Make a Wrapped Box Centerpiece

http://www.handsonworkshop.com.au/diy-tutorial-christmas-boxes/
Choose fabrics to suit your colors for the table

Tutorial at Hands On Workshop Blog

"It’s that time of the year where you need to start getting into the real Christmas planning. Decorations are going up. The detailed plans for the who, the what, the where and the how are underway. You’ve still got time to make gifts and decorations.  For table and home decorations, you might like to try this idea if you’d like something new for the table – Christmas boxes wrapped in fabric. Stack them neatly with candles for a centerpiece, and position a box at each place setting. Or you could hide them in the tree.  You can put little trinkets, sweets or special messages (or quotes) inside the boxes to make it more fun for kids. We’ve used scraps of fabric and old boxes".... Tutorial - Wall Decor from Recycled Cardboard Rolls

http://www.cutesimplestuff.com/?p=1065
Affordable seasonal decor

Tutorial at Cute Simple Stuff Blog

"When it comes to seasons my favorites are fall and winter, definitely. I´m a colder weather instead of a warm weather all the way. To me, there is nothing better than fall and winter weather, with the warm clothing, the hot drinks, Christmas lights and the smell, the feels, in general, the feels.  Now for this DIY a friend sent me this cropped photo or this cool idea. It´s a different concept but when I saw it I thought: wow, what a clever and fun way of upcycling this kind of items. So I wanted to give the concept a try, with my own spin on it".... Read more

Tutorial - Make a Cork Tissue Box Cover

http://www.handsonworkshop.com.au/diy-tutorial-cork-tissue-box-covers/
Use zipper on the opening for a final touch

Tutorial at Hands On Workshop Blog

"There are some bathroom consumables (that is, the items you regularly replace) which are nice to splash out on – like botanical scented handwash in lovely bottles. But groovy designs on cardboard tissue boxes is not one of them. They look good, but the extra cost seems silly for something which get tossed out after a couple of weeks.  Here’s a way to make a smart looking cover to disguise the ho-hum print on your box of budget priced tissues".... Tutorial - Make a Gilded Boxwood Wreath and Candle

http://www.mabeyshemadeit.com/gilded-boxwood-wreath-and-candle/
Use washi tape to add gilded stripes to a candle

Tutorial at Mabey She Made It Blog

"Gilding is such a fun thing to try–its pretty magical because you simply paint a surface, and all the sudden its shiny and gold, and it looks amazing. And my gilded boxwood wreath and candle are no exception.  Its easy enough that I almost feel silly sharing this gilded boxwood project, except that I’m part of an awesome hop where everyone chose something to gild, and I am loving all the projects. And I might be biased, but I really love my gilded boxwood".... Read more

"Last year I created this vellum pumpkin over at the Core’dinations blog, and this year I get to share it with you! I still love how neutral and fun this white vellum pumpkin is. Raise your hand if you love pumpkins for fall decorating. (I’m raising both of mine!) I love how versatile they are and that you can use them from the beginning of fall all the way through Halloween and Thanksgiving. There are a lot of pumpkins at my house. Today we’re going to do a vellum pumpkin centerpiece with lots of class and that can easily be changed up for any occasion. Let’s get started".... Read more

Tutorial at The Beauty DoJo Blog

"A very happy Friday to you all! Today we’re going to be making these super duper easy gold glitter polka dot pumpkins! I’ve always loved the look of gold glitter on white pumpkins! In fact, last year, I made something similar using mod podge and loose glitter. Although it looked pretty, it also created a pretty big mess in the process (any of you guys who have played around with loose glitter know what I mean). Somehow glitter just ends up everywhere! Well….with this method you won’t have to worry about creating a big glittery mess! Keep reading to see how it’s done".... Read more

"Over the last few years wallpaper has come back in fashion and there are loads of fantastic designs out there. Wallpaper is not just for walls, you can decorate loads of things with it. As many great design houses produce their own wallpapers it can be cheap way of getting that designer look. My friend Wendy loves Orla Kiely prints and has found an affordable way to get Orla Kiely into her home by using wallpaper. I’ll show you how wallpaper can be used to transform furniture and fixings in your home.  The great thing about using wallpaper is that not only does it come in thousands of cool designs it is quite robust and flexible making it easier to stick to objects than ordinary paper".... Tutorial - Make a Fabric Stag Head Wall Hanging

http://www.pillarboxblue.com/diy-fabric-stags-head/
Put up as a Christmas decoration, or use all year

Tutorial at Pillar Box Blue Blog

"Animal heads especially stag heads have become a very popular home decoration over the last few years. I even made myself a paper mache moose head as a memento to a fantastic family holiday to Canada a few years ago. My craft buddy Wendy gave me a gorgeous fabric stag head for Christmas that she had made. I love this stag head it makes a great seasonal decoration. Wendy also made one for herself which she keeps up all year round. Depending on what fabric you choose these fabric stag heads don’t just have to be for Christmas. They do however make a great personal Christmas present".... Read more
