Tutorial - How to Get Paper Ready to Make Signatures for a Handbound Book

So interesting! I've wondered how book makers get those pages so darn perfect.

Get Paper Ready to Make Signatures for a Handbound Book Tutorial at So Anyway
"The first step in making a hand bound book (outside of getting text together and breaking it up into page sized bits) is getting your signatures (or in my case; a signature) ready. A signature is a group of folded pages that make up a booklet which is then sewn together and attached to the hard cover of your book.

Today I'll show you how to find the grain in your sheet of paper so that you can cut your paper to make a signature for a hand bound book..." Read more

Excellent use of that fabric! Very cute and very easy! Make a bunch!

Scrap Fabric Headband Tutorial at Mine for the Making
"I am not big on wasting. This includes wasting time, wasting money, wasting food....even wasting fabric. I love fabric...and I will not waste it. I have been trying to figure out what to do with my "scrap" fabric. Even though I didn't throw it away, it still remains purposeless...pretty much "wasting" away. And then I came up with it...why not make headbands out of that scrap fabric, Kara! Great idea : )..." Read more

Tutorial - How to Make an Art Journal

I absolutely love this idea! It's so much less intimidating with the colorful pages and being free to add your own art. Wouldn't this be fabulous for kids too?

Art Journal Tutorial at Bloom, Bake & Create
"I’ve had this nagging desire to find out what all the hoopla was about art journals. Why is everyone so excited? I took an online class Life Made By Hand with Kelly Kilmer to get started in this medium. I enjoyed it, but I really needed another push. I wanted to create an art journal similar to a regular journal in that I would write every day about my feelings and what was going on. However, I would add art to the page. So I decided for the month of October I’d complete a page a day..." Read more

Tutorial - How to Make a Child's ABC Book

This is fabulous! I made ABC books for my boys. They were just composition notebooks with photos glued to the pages. They added some of their own drawings too. Yep, that was quite a few years ago now! Our books weren't as lovely as these but they were loved too.

ABC Book Tutorial at Smart-Bottom Enterprises
