Tutorial - How to Make a No-Sew Sock Snowman

http://www.colouredbuttons.com/2014/11/no-sew-sock-snowman-from-downunder.html
You need two socks and a few other supplies for this project

Tutorial at Coloured Buttons Blog

"As most of my recent tutorials  have been sewing projects, I thought it might be a nice change to make a crafty no sew project. This little sock snowman makes a great "desk friend" or paper weight and because he's filled with rice he's nice and squishy to hold too".... Read more

Tutorial - How to Make a Snowman Painted Glass

http://www.makeiteasycrafts.com/2013/12/painted-xmas-snowman-martini-glass.html
Can be painted on any style glass

Snowman Tutorial at Make it Easy Crafts Blog

"Since a martini glass is sort of concave you can easily see inside the glass even easier than the outside.  So when I paint my Christmas snowman glass I paint him using a reverse technique so that you can see the front of him on the inside of the glass and on the outside you see him from the back. It's all painted on the outside of the glass and there is no paint on the interior! It’s easier than you may think if you follow the easy step-by-step instructions. Bake it in your home oven (No, it won’t melt) and it will be top rack dishwasher safe, but I always recommend hand washing. Even though there appears to be quite a few steps the paint dries quickly and the results are beautiful.  Wouldn't these be a super Christmas gift".... Read more

Tutorial - How to Make Tulle Snow Puffs

Add a crystal for extra glam, make a garland, or hang them from the ceiling

Puffs Tutorial at One Girl in Pink Blog

"I have admired photos of pretty tulle poms on Pinterest for months now!  I had hoped that one day I would dream up a reason to make bunches of them!  They are lovely for weddings, window displays and children's rooms.  I recently had the thought to make them in ivory, in various sizes and hang them from branches as pretty puffs of snow.  What a magical, wintry scene you could create".... Knitting Pattern - How to Make a Reversible Cable Scarf

It's gorgeous!

Reversible Cable Scarf Knitting Pattern at RosMadeMe
"Right, who is already running screaming for the door at the thought that not only are you going to cable but your knitting is going to be the same on each side? I promise you it will be really easy, think about it there are three stitches that look the same on both sides: garter, rib and moss or seed stitch and we will be using rib and moss stitch, and to help you further there is a YouTube demo of cabling pasted at the end of the pattern.

The scarf is made with Sirdar Big Softie and measures 6' 6" and the great thing is it will knit up really quickly... I made mine in two days on the train (45 min train journeys) and the great thing is with size 10 needles few are brave enough to sit next to you! The good news is this scarf is butch enough for chaps and, soft and snuggly enough for girls..." Read more

Tutorial - How to Make an Easy Flannel and Fleece Quilt

Flannel and Fleece! Does it get any snugglier?

Easy Flannel and Fleece Quilt Tutorial at Quilt in Progress
"Simple to make, this quilt can be whipped up in a few hours and make a child happy all winter long.

I made these in snuggle-quilt size for a child, but the same steps apply if you want to make it adult size or large enough for a bed. No batting needed.

My husband and I couldn’t resist the monkey and frog fabrics we found in flannel one day. I had already made lap quilts for the two of us using cotton for the front (not pieced, whole cloth) and batting with flannel backing. I wondered how it would work to use fleece for the backing. It would be soft, and warm and heavy enough to replace the batting as well..." Read more

Tutorial - How to Make Faux Union Suit Pajamas

Perfect for Christmas morning!

Footie Pajamas with Faux Flap Tutorial at Dahlhart Lane
"I was lucky enough to have a couple knit footed pajamas around the house already to use as a basic pattern. If you have a snug fitting pair already, just turn it inside out and place on your fabric and cut out your pattern pieces. The size that I didn't have around, I used a top and bottom set and measured the torso length to make sure it would fit the same..." Read more

Tutorial - How to do Snow Dyeing

Amazingly cool technique! (Ha! Get it?)

Getting Started - Snow Dyeing Tutorial at Bloom, Bake & Create
"I have been dying to do this since I met Karen Hampton and interviewed her for my column in our local newspaper. I couldn’t stop drooling over her beautiful fabric.

Since we’ve had so much snow lately and I had rounded up everything I needed, I set out to try Karen’s technique and another I found on the Internet. I tried several batches with two different techniques, so I’ll cover the steps in separate posts.

For those of us who live in snowy areas, there is still time to play with this technique. If you are snowless, you can make snow with one of those snow cone machines or even chopped ice..." Read more

Tutorial - How to Make a Felt Applique Snowflake Pillow Cover

Love that snowflake design!

Felt Applique Snowflake Pillow Cover Tutorial at She Wears Flowers
"I saw a gorgeous stocking in a catalog at Christmas time. The description said it was reverse applique. After thinking about it for a while, I decided I wanted to try it so I made this snowflake pillow with a modified version of the reverse applique technique and I think it turned out beautifully.
This tutorial explains how to make a cover for a pillow form. You can make all kinds of covers and change them as the mood strikes! You can also skip down to the part about the snowflake and simply make a snowflake for a pillow or cover that you already have..." Read more

Tutorial - How to Make an Infinity Scarf from a Recylced Sweater

In love! Yes, I adore it!

Infinity Scarf from a Recylced Sweater Tutorial at Adventures in Dressmaking
"I thought about doing several things with it, but in the end I really wanted to make it into a scarf, one where all my raw edges were hidden and only the soft outside showed. I have seen "infinity scarves" before that are a jersey knit on the back side and a lovely silk or something on the front, and of course when you wear it they cross a little. I thought about doing that with this sweater and a tee I had in my pile, but I ended up having enough of just the little sweater!..." Read more
