Tutorial - How to Make a Fabric Birdcage

http://www.pillarboxblue.com/gorgeous-spring-fabric-birdcage/
Made with 2 old wire hangers and scrap fabric

Tutorial at Pillar Box Blue Blog

"Maybe it’s because I’m the daughter of an ornithologist, spring makes me think of birds. Which gave me the idea to make the fabric birdcage. It took me about an hour to make the cages, only using the things that I already had at home.   They make a lovely gift and as with my fabric birdhouses can be personalized by using an old shirt of the recipients. Any old fabric scraps will do, I’ve been eyeing up an old pink striped shirt of my husbands which I think I’ll use next".... Read more

Tutorial - How to Make Fabric Birdhouses

Birdhouses make a nice homemade present

Tutorial at Pillar Box Blue Blog

"These Birdhouses look great and they cost very little to make. You don’t need much fabric and you can personalize them by making them with an old patterned dress or shirt. I love to upcycle with old jeans, so I even made one of my birdhouses in mainly denim with bit of Scandinavian fabric. I first made these fabric birdhouses with my friend Wendy, as they looked so cute and were really easy we got a bit addicted to making them, and made six. Displayed together in a clustered they look really good".... Read more

"Not so long ago I made a Spring wreath with recycled plastic bottles.  As always I collected more materials than I needed.  After finishing the wreath I still had more than 5 plastic bottles in my craft box.  My little helper suggested to make a bird.  I liked the idea but I did not know how to make the bird.  I gave it a thought and, after juggling with some ideas, I am very happy to announce the winner design.  Here it is".... Make a few to put into Easter baskets, or just have fun with

Tutorial at Patchwork Posse Blog

"With Easter and Spring rolling around, this little Spring Chick is just in time!  Use your grandma’s hankies, embroidered pillow cases, vintage fabric for a classic look.  The pattern is super simple and will take you less than one hour to sew it up!  One of my favorite parts of Spring are the chicks.  A few years back we picked up a few chicks….and I loved hearing thier chirp chirps and watch them grow.  They are so sweet and are a hoot to watch!  Since we haved moved, we have no chicks.  No big chickens….but for now I can have little chicks hanging out.  They don’t chirp, but are just as cute".... This little bird has lots of personality

Felted Bird Tutorial at Blue Giraffe Crafts Blog

"This is Bert the Bird. He is sort of a turkey bird.  But he is very cute and would like some friends.  This is where you, and this tutorial, come in. You will need: 36 Gauge Triangular Felting Needles (WARNING: Super sharp, avoid fingers at all costs as really painful), A high density foam felting pad (also known as a felting sponge), Felting wool in 3 colours, Jewellery Wire, Round Nosed Pliers, Black Seed Beads, Black Thread, Thin Needle"....
