Tutorial - How to Make a Pressed Flower Pendant

http://www.thechillydog.com/2016/08/tutorial-pressed-flower-pendant.html
Make with flowers picked from your yard

Tutorial at The Chilly Dog Blog

"A few months ago, I bought the most beautiful flower press from BKInspired on Etsy. (If you haven't seen this shop, I highly recommend a visit.) Not only is the press pretty, with an intricate design burned into the wood cover, it also came with a nice set of simple instructions for pressing flowers. Shortly after my flower press arrived I headed out to the yard to collect some flowers. That was the easy part. The hard part was waiting for nature to take its course and flatten the leaves and petals once they were placed into the press".... Read more

Tutorial - Make a T-Shirt Flower Embellishment

http://www.boreidesign.com/2016/06/how-to-make-easy-scrap-t-shirt-flower.html
For brooches, to embellish clothing or hair bows

Tutorial at Borei Design Blog

"I love re-imagining and recycling not only home decor but clothing as well. I just finished refashioning a long sleeved, winner knit shirt into a new summer top. I had planned on posting it first but it is currently in the wash. I (being the graceful person that I am) unfortunately spilled something on it right after I finished it. Therefore, I will first be sharing what I did with some of the scraps for now and the shirt makeover later.  When I was making the shirt, I couldn't decide if I wanted to add a flower embellishment or not. I eventually decided to make a removable one, so that I could wear the shirt with or without it".... Read more

Tutorial - Make Kraft Paper Flowers and Leaves

http://www.handsonworkshop.com.au/hack-fast-kraft-flowers-and-leaves/
Use to wrap gifts, as centerpieces, place settings, etc.

Tutorial at Hands On Workshop Blog

"I discovered this short cut to making kraft paper flowers and leaves. Instead of using kraft paper in sheets, I used paper gardening twine from Bunnings (Australia’s big box hardware store).  The bio-degradable twine is used to tie a plant to a stake. It also flattens out to about 10cm wide and looks like crumpled kraft paper. Creating the leaves is dead easy and they only need a bit of minor trimming. For the flowers, I just played around with creating petals and the flower centre".... Read more

Use to accent a pillow, bag, mug rag, dress, and other sewing projects

Tutorial at Patchwork Posse Blog

"In the evening, there are some times when I just need a little project to work on.  Maybe something that I don’t really need to think about.  It comes together fairly quick and there aren’t a lot of extra pieces laying around like a hoop and a bunch of thread.  Hexagons are just that for me.  To me it is kind of mindless work that doesn’t require a whole lot of concentration or effort.  The honey doesn’t love these projects though because there are bits of fabric laying about the coffee table with hexagon papers along side".... Tutorial at Little Treasures Blog

"I get a lot of comments and questions from my customers about my photo tutorials and one thing I've learned so far is that people's feelings towards crochet charts vary from mild fear to utter aversion. Let me tell you one thing. The minute I learned how to follow a crochet chart I didn't turn to written patterns ever again. I mean like never! So I thought it might be fun and a bit educational if I show you how to read the charts - understandably that you are familiar with the basic crochet stitches.  Today I am showing you how to read patterns in the rounds. Next time I will show you how to read a square".... Read more

Tutorial - How to Make a Quilled Flower Card

http://carinascrafts.wordpress.com/2014/09/30/warping-wire-swirling-strips-a-tutorial/
Scrolling strips of paper can produce elegant results

Tutorial at Carina's Crafts Blog

"In my last post I wrote about how a floral wire art inspired me to come up with a floral design in quilling. So instead of warping wire I swirled some strips of paper and created a flower.  This is how I did it.  I used cream and brown 5mm / 3/16 inch quilling strips. Any colour combination will work – contrasting colours or of the same tone as I did. 16 strips of the brown and 12 of the cream. And some scrap paper or extra strip of cream for the stamens"....
