Tutorial - Character Ornaments from Craft Foam

http://nontoygifts.com/diy-christmas-ornaments/
Use leftover  scraps from other projects

Tutorial at Non Toy Gifts Blog

"Some people buy new Christmas ornaments every year, others prefer to create them themselves.  I love the store-bought ornaments for the shiny and perfect look but I also want to give Christmas a personal touch through ornaments, decorations and gifts. I would like to have a color coordinated tree but I choose instead a tree with mis-matched handmade ornaments, a tree that holds memories of important moments and people in our lives, a tree that will warm our hearts year by year. Simple DIY Christmas ornaments, that don’t require much time and many supplies, that I can make while my kids nap or easy enough to get the kids involved, are my favorites".... Read more

Tutorial - Make Fabric Covered Foam Bowls and Boxes

http://www.handsonworkshop.com.au/photo-tutorial-foam-bowls-and-boxes/
You can make various shaped containers

Tutorial at Hands On Workshop Blog

"These colourful containers were created by Guest Presenter Lynn Pavey. She made them from ‘dollar shop’ craft foam and fabric offcuts. They are handy lightweight containers that can be used for containing anything (fruit, coloured pencil stash, stationery bits, or party treats (lollies, wrapped chocolates, serviettes).  Lynn has also figured out a way of using the colours in the mixed foam sheets pack that aren’t your first pick. As you’ll see if you team the tone with the just the right fabric, it can look sensational. Sometimes it doesn’t need to match, just harmonise, to look right. Give it a try, and test your own shapes".... Read more

Tutorial - Make a Tropical Garden Plant

http://plumperfectandme.blogspot.com/2015/06/faux-silver-vase-bromeliad-diy.html
Everlasting bloom crafted with man made materials

Tutorial at Purple Hues and Me Blog

"The Silver Vase (Aechmea Fasciata- native to Brazil) Bromeliad is one of my favorite tropical garden plants.  It's spikey pink flower is so striking and unusual.  This time of the year you'll see lots of silver vase bromeliad plants in garden centers and in commercial landscaping, both indoors and out.  The sad part about this plant is that once it blooms the plant slowly dies. But fortunately, after flowering, each plant produces offsets called pups which can grow into more mature plants.  But blooming again - that's a whole different story on what you need to do to make this happen, so I decided to make my own "forever silver vase bromeliad flower"..... Tutorial - How to Weave a Foam Basket

http://plumperfectandme.blogspot.com/2015/04/may-day-foam-basket-diy.html
A way to spread the arrival and joy of spring

Tutorial at Purple Hues and Me Blog

"As a child I loved May 1st and all the fun activities held on that day at school.  I especially loved dressing in white, dancing and wrapping the maypole. Unfortunately, I don't think today's kids experience any of those fun activities.  I just recently learned of another spring tradition from the past - of making baskets, filling them with fresh spring flowers or treats and anonymously placing them on neighbors' doorsteps in celebration of spring.   I like the idea of making baskets, filling them with flowers, fresh or not, and giving them to friends and loved ones to spread the joys of spring. For this, I have an easy adorable basket to make - one that can get kids or adults involved by helping weave their very own May Day basket using foam sheets, poster board, hot glue or super glue and scissors"....
